It’s 2023, and some people are saying that society has made progress in terms of gender equality. But let’s face it, folks, the needle keeps moving backwards for women’s rights. It’s like a big yo-yo that never lands on the side of fairness.
And to put it bluntly, people just don’t freaking believe you! They think women can’t accurately remember or interpret their own experiences. Even as witnesses, they’d rather give the benefit of the doubt to the perpetrator because they identify with them more. What a mess!
But wait there’s more depressing things happening to women this year:
Medical procedures are constantly being done without pain management! Can you imagine getting your cervix cut out for biopsy while you’re not even provided with Tylenol?! Meanwhile men get local anesthesia for vasectomies – what kind of twilight zone is this? Old men telling us what we can and cannot do with our body which would be ok if they actually had medical training or knew how our bodies worked … but alas!
Speaking of old men…why do we have so many wrinkled men making decisions about women? These geezers have no qualms about cheating on their wives with younger women and paying for abortions on the DL because it’s convenient for them.
And everything I say is an argument…everything!! God forbid I ever try to share opinions without someone accusing me of man-hating. My own experiences always seem to be challenged too; yep sounds exhausting doesn’t it?
The development of AI and deepfake technology terrifies me! Now creeps can generate naked pictures from normal ones – as a woman I personally don’t feel safe posting online these days.
And then there’s all those anti-aging products marketed towards teen girls now – wtf!? Why does anyone need botox at age 16?
Oh boy…the bitch label…when will this end?! Apparently when a woman isn’t overly accommodating and agreeable then she’s a bitch, whereas men who act similarly are given a pat on the back. Not cool.
The hate women get for being non-traditionally feminine and towards trans-women is unacceptable! Be yourself people!
And let’s not forget about the birth control issues we have to deal with…The responsibility always seems to be on us ladies, and when men are asked to wear condoms they complain because ‘it doesn’t feel the same’ or ‘it’s uncomfortable.’ When scientists finally created a birth control pill specifically for men it was taken off the market due to side effects such as depression, mood swings, and weight issues. Meanwhile women go through trial after trial just trying to find something that works without causing life-altering side effects like these.
Doctors don’t even take our medical issues seriously; apparently there’s still a clear lack of empathy out there too. Women seeked help from their doctor after having a miscarriage only for them simply say: “I don’t know why you’re sad..just try again.” Yep fired!!!
Oh here we go again….Dressing up over the top in high heels tight skirts jewelry make-up while men simply put on loose suits flat shoes and call it dressing nicely? The gender bias with appearance needs evaluating ASAP no excuses!
Maternity care – why should anyone almost die during labor? Seriously people!!
Why does appearance seem more important than anything else when considering women? Debates against misogynistic arguments regarding how many career opportunities women receive are still fierce… especially in IT – come one folks let’s move into 2023???
Oh man….if I had £1 every-time someone said “A woman cant do that!” Or “how will you cope?” . Try moving into an RV by myself?! It means driving all over town instead of allowing my hubby (who can drive but has no interest whatsoever) take the wheel – heavens to Betsy the salesmen’s faces when they realise this!
And let’s not forget all those injustices that occur outside of our country, like women being murdered in Iran for not wearing the hijab correctly. And somehow we’re told that brutal murder is acceptable because rules are rules!? – nope still not buying it.
And here we are ladies: checking over our shoulders each time we close doors simply making sure no one sketchy followed us. This “me too” campaign just gets stronger and stronger…
Do I even bother going there? Btu hey society…Woman don’t want children… ever thought to ask instead of constantly interrogating them?
$8.99 for tampons and other hygiene products-per month!! Really…and don’t get us started on how expensive facial washes have became??? Last year same sized packaged items were £5/£6 – What is happening folks???
Oh wait let me add more points before i finish…
Where did fairness disappear? Why should I receive less pay than someone who has done exactly my role but happens to be male…oh wait he got rated better on performance evaluations! Life definitely takes another turn during these times!
The dread of losing more rights as a woman looms overhead-what will happen next??
In conclusion-give your fellow females a break! There’s far too much stacked against out gender!!!
