Two Men Who Hunted, Killed Bald Eagle Were Here Illegally According to Rep. Kat Cammack

In Nebraska last month, the story of two men who hunted and killed a bald eagle has taken an unexpected turn. As it turns out, the two individuals, Ramiro Hernandez-Tziquin and Domingo Zetino-Hernandez, are both from Honduras, and they entered the United States illegally, according to Florida Rep. Kat Cammack. The North American bald eagle is not only the beloved symbol of America’s strength and enduring freedom but is also protected under federal law. The killing of a bald eagle is a felony that can carry a maximum of five years in prison and a total fine of $250,000.

In February 2023, the county sheriff’s office issued a press release after discovering the illegal killing of a North American bald eagle near the Wood Duck Recreation area outside Stanton, Nebraska. The deputies came upon Hernandez-Tziquin and Zetino-Hernandez in possession of a dead North American Bald Eagle, and an investigation later found that the two men had killed the protected bird. While they were cited for the misdemeanor offense of unlawful possession of a bald eagle, it appears that more serious charges may not be levied against them.

GOP Rep. Kat Cammack has claimed that the two Honduran nationals charged with killing the bird entered the US illegally. She also alleges the Department of the Interior’s FWS seems to have either no desire to prosecute these individuals or are completely unaware of the situation. The two individuals charged, Hernandez-Tziquin and Zetino-Hernandez, are both 20 years old and speak only Spanish, according to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger. Hernandez-Tziquin was also cited for not having a driver’s license. It is unclear how two illegal immigrants were able to possess a firearm on national park land without being charged with more serious offenses.

This situation is symbolic of the far-reaching consequences of Biden’s open border policies in the United States, according to Cammack. In Biden’s America, open borders have led to the destruction of communities through crime and drug addiction, and the story of two individuals illegally killing a bald eagle is just one example of how these policies are causing harm. The bald eagle is no longer an endangered species, and conservation efforts have helped bring the population back from the brink, but more must be done to protect the species from illegal activities.

The story of two illegal immigrants killing a protected bird in Nebraska highlights the urgent need for immigration reform in America. Illegal immigration is a complex issue, but the potential consequences of allowing a wide-open border cannot be overstated. America must have controlled immigration policies that prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens while providing a pathway for legal immigration that is fair, efficient, and effective. Until these policies are implemented, the story of two men who killed a bald eagle will be seen as just another example of how America’s immigration policies are failing.

In short, the story of two men who killed a bald eagle has taken an uncomfortable turn. These two individuals entered the United States illegally, and they have been charged with unlawful possession of a bald eagle. More serious charges may not be levied against them, and this situation highlights the urgent need for immigration reform in America. America must implement controlled immigration policies that prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens and provide a pathway for legal immigration that is fair, efficient, and effective. Until these policies are implemented, stories like this one will continue to arise, and the strength and freedom of America that the eagle has long symbolized will remain in jeopardy.
