Twitter has recently implemented usage limits, and it’s causing quite the stir. The company claims that these restrictions are necessary to “detect and eliminate bots and other bad actors,” but let’s be real here – we all know what this is really about.
Yes, Twitter wants to ensure the authenticity of its user base. But more importantly, they want to make sure that their platform isn’t being used for evil purposes like building artificial intelligence models or manipulating use of the site (whatever that means).
And who can blame them? We’ve all seen those creepy robots on social media pretending to be human beings with their perfectly crafted tweets and eerily similar profile pictures. It’s time someone put a stop to this madness!
But why did Twitter have to implement these usage limits without warning? According to them, if they had given any advance notice then those pesky bot creators would have altered their behavior in order not get caught.
Because apparently people who create fake accounts just love following rules…?
Anyway, Elon Musk himself announced these new limitations over the weekend claiming there were extreme levels of data scraping going on which was leading towards system manipulation; I mean come on guys! How else will he keep his Tesla stocksSponsored Product up?!
The temporary restrictions vary depending upon your verification status within twitter- because obviously verified users don’t need as much protection from “bad actors” compared with us mere mortals trying our best at witty one liners under 280 characters per tweet…
Many users encountered error messages when attempting access during peak hours due to limited capacity caused by such measures taken against spamming/bot activity.
So far only a small percentage seem affected however advertising revenue remains unaffected so no harm done right?!
It’s clear though: This move wasn’t made out of concern for regular ol’ humans using Twitter – oh no! It was purely an attempt by big tech companies like Facebook & Google etc., wanting control back after years watching smaller start-ups rise up and take over their market share.
But hey, at least we can all sleep soundly knowing that Twitter is doing everything in its power to protect us from the dangers of fake accounts and AI models.
So go ahead – tweet away! Just make sure you don’t exceed your daily limit or else… well actually nothing will happen because it’s not like they’re going to ban anyone for tweeting too much (yet).
