Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is anticipated to miss 4 to six weeks with a hip injury, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.
The Bengals star did not practice Thursday and was listed on the team’s injury report with a hip problem.
Chase initially skilled the problem in the team’s Week six win more than the New Orleans Saints. He was restricted at practice ahead of final weekend’s win more than the Atlanta Falcons, throughout which he appeared to pull up at 1 point at the finish of a route. He completed the game and declined to go into specifics about the injury when he met with reporters immediately after the game.
Chase saw a specialist Wednesday as he seeks extra answers about the injury, sources told Schefter.
Asked about Chase on Thursday, Bengals coach Zac Taylor mentioned the second-year player out of LSU was dealing with a bit of soreness and the predicament would be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
Because of the timeline of the injury recovery, Chase could be placed on injured reserve, which would place him out for a minimum of 4 weeks.
In seven games this season, Chase has 47 catches for 605 yards and six touchdowns.
The news was initially reported by The Wrightway Sports Network.
