So, did you catch the drama at UFC Vegas 82? The one and only Mike Beltran made quite a name for himself that night. In the lightweight preliminary bout between Trey Ogden and Nikolas Motta, where Ogden seemed to be having all the fun dominating his opponent, it was about to get tricky. Ogden executed an arm-triangle choke in what appeared to be a move that would seal his triumph. But enter Beltran – he yelled for Motta to let him know that everything was hunky-dory even though it would’ve been highly unlikely given circumstances of choking. When Motta attempted defending himself, Bam! Took everyone by surprise with a rather abrupt stoppage of the fight and left poor old Motta royally peeved off.
You think it’s over yet? Ha! No siree. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more bizarre – guess what? Even after Ogden serving as nice as pie on how he owned every aspect of this so-called match-up, there comes in news that turns people’s heads sideways: A “no contest”. Yes my friends, someone wanted some public attention from fans and fighters alike.
Dominick Cruz deserves applause for not holding back any verbal attack during the broadcast or social media following this clown fest orchestrated by Beltran (round of applause).
