Breaking News: LinkedIn has suspended GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s account for over a week, claiming “misinformation” and “hate speech.” Who would’ve thought the platform was only meant for human resources stooges to bloviate on ‘work-life balance’ and ‘inclusive hiring practices?’ Vivek had the audacity to express fact-based opinions on China and climate change. Can you imagine that? Speaking your mind is evidently not allowed in this day and age.
The company took issue with three statements made by poor Mr. Ramaswamy: 1) “The CCP is playing the Biden administration like a Chinese mandolin;” 2) If the climate religion was really about climate change, then they’d be worried about shifting oil production from the US to places like Russia and China;” and lastly, my personal favorite – 3) “The climate agenda is a lie: Fossil fuels are a requirement for human prosperity.”
Clearly these are offensive statements which simply cannot be tolerated in our progressive society. How dare he make claims backed up by factual evidence! I mean, it’s not as if we need fossil fuels or anything crazy like that.
After calling out LinkedIn on their politically charged censorship, an employee notified Vivek of their decision stating that his account was restricted for sharing misleading or inaccurate information”. When asked exactly where he misled anyone Vivak received this vague response “We don’t tolerate misinformation hate speech violence or any form of abuse on our platform.”
Well excuse me gentlemen but when did open political discourse become confused with abuse? Now we have accepted censorship policies from privately owned tech companies acting as appendages of governments silencing honest debate between politicians using clearly stated arguments based on reality?
Vivek believes such moves represent what’s wrong in America today- collusion between Silicon Valley giants who dominate social media sites around the world – controlling voices against leftist narratives having far-reaching consequences.
Vivek Ramaswamy is not alone in the battle against Big Tech censorship as several other prominent individuals have faced similar attacks. Gretchen Smith, founder of Code of Vets and a veteran herself was under fire for expressing her views on Biden’s student debt bailout and Gabby Franco an Olympian also got suspended because of a picture she posted holding two firearms, polling her followers on which gun they preferred. People are getting banned from social media sites because platforms seem to take exception to anything that doesn’t align with their own ideological beliefs – whether it be factual or opinion based information- we’re seeing constant discrimination against free speech.
As Vivek pointed out “Free speech is not intended for the speech we love. It is intended for the speech that we do not love.” It’s time that people wake up to this simple fact: all opinions must be allowed to thrive in order for robust debate critical thinking and our democracy itself thrives – even if big tech giants dislike what certain candidates say about them.
In conclusion it looks like Vivek has become quite adept at standing up against censorship by debunking left wing propaganda purveyors using scientific facts as his defense mechanism. The only way Americans can revive open debate and prove themselves worthy of this democratic ideal which their nation was founded upon would entail showing up on liberal campuses both inner cities and within left-wing media outlets where candidates are routinely told not to go.Whether Mr.Ramaswarmy makes any progress among such groups remains to be seen but he should be applauded simply for putting out there exactly how things stand today when it comes to freedom, rights, and basic human values.
