Arrr! Ye may not believe it, but Jared Gordon be makin’ a quick turnaround in the octagon to face Jim Miller at UFC Vegas 74. It be multiple sources with knowledge of the promotion’s plans that be sayin’ that Ludovit Klein, Miller’s original opponent, was forced to drop out of the June 3 event for undisclosed reasons. In his place, Gordon stepped up to take on Miller and put his pirate skills to the test.
UFC Vegas 74 be takin’ place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas and will be aired on ESPN and ESPN+. Gordon steps up on short notice after a disappointin’ return to the octagon in his previous bout against Bobby Green at UFC Vegas 71 that ended in a no-contest after an accidental clash of heads. The booty he lost by not winnin’ that last bout be drivin’ him to climb to the top of the piratin’ world once again.
Gordon had hoped to get back in the win column after a highly controversial loss to Paddy Pimblett last December at UFC 282. But now he must prove his mettle against the veteran Miller in order to move forward as an up-and-comin’ pirate.
As for Miller, he be makin’ his staggering 41st appearance in the octagon and seekin’ to be the first fighter to have 50 fights in the UFC. The decorated submission artist has a chance to close the all-time submission record gap with current leader Charles Oliveira (19) if he’s able to capture his 17th submission against Gordon. In his most recent appearance, a bout against Alexander Hernandez at UFC Vegas 69, Miller saw his three-fight winning streak snapped via decision. The experience and cunning he’s gained over the years as a pirate in the octagon will serve him well in this next battle.
UFC Vegas 74 be headlined by a flyweight bout between Kai Kara-France and Amir Albazi. But for our purposes, all attention will be on Gordon as he takes on Miller and fights to improve his pirate rank in the fierce world of the UFC.
And that be all ye scallywags need to know about this upcoming UFC Vegas 74 event. Don’t forget to tune in and cheer on yer favorite pirate fighters! Ahoy!
