So, picture this – Hector Lombard gets a quick stoppage win at Friday’s Gamebred Bareknuckle event. But wait! Plot twist – it turns into a loss before magically turning back into a win again. Quite the rollercoaster of emotions for old Hector.
Lombard faced Chris Sarro at Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA 6 and decided to show off his wrestling skills with a speedy takedown before dropping some punches on Sarro, who then tapped out like he was auditioning for a role in a Shakespearean drama. But alas, the drama didn’t end there as after what felt like an eternity, the decision was announced – Lombard disqualified for illegal punches to the back of the head. Who knew there were rules against hitting someone where they can’t see it coming?
But hold on! Take another sip of your teaSponsored Product because we have more plot twists up our sleeves – lo and behold, the decision was reversed (again) and Lombard was awarded a TKO victory after all after only 1 minute and 9 seconds of action. It’s almost as if they were playing eenie-meenie-miney-mo with poor old Hector’s fate.
And just in case you didn’t get enough entertainment from that whole spectacle, here’s video evidence of said closing moments of the fight below, complete with dramatic music for added effect.
Oh but wait! There’s more drama brewing as Sarro ended up getting stretchered out of the cage like royalty being carried on their throne. As expected from such an intense battle, there is currently no update on his condition, leaving us wondering if he’ll be making any surprise appearances anytime soon or if he has retired to nurse his wounds surrounded by pillows and ice packs.
The cherry on top? Well folks, would you believe that our dear old grandpa fighter Lombard managed to grace himself once again with a victory for the first time since stopping Joe Riggs in BKFC18 last June which feels like eons ago now (in internet time). Perhaps all this chaos lent him some sort of superpowers!
