In the latest episode of “As the Crypto World Turns,” we have Ethereum Insider and former advisor Steven Nerayoff spilling some hot tea about his time working with Ethereum founders Vitalik Buterin and Joe Lubin. Apparently, he’s been holding onto a grudge or two, and now he’s ready to air out all that dirty laundry.
Vitalik is an “Idiot” And Lubin is A “Sociopath” – According to Nerayoff
So here’s what went down. In a post on X (which used to be Twitter before it got too mainstream), Nerayoff called Vitalik an “idiot” and labeled Lubin as a “sociopath.” Ouch! He even questioned if Vitalik could build a protocol just because he can use a calculator. As for Lubin, well, apparently being around him was like living in an episode of Criminal Minds which led to Nerayoff leaving ConsenSys.
But wait there’s more! During his tenure at Ethereum, our dear friend Steven started getting those creepy-crawly feelings you get when something isn’t quite right. This prompted him to start documenting everything – yes folks, every single conversation!
Nerayoff wasn’t exactly Mr.Technical Guy so initially didn’t have much insight into the inner workings of the Ethereum ecosystem. However, after having had enough courtroom drama than anyone would care for in their lifetime, he now claims to have all the juicy details about what Vitalik and Lubin were up to.

How Ethereum Founders Created Their Own Boogeyman
Nerayoff alleges that his former colleagues tried to put him behind bars for helping them. He was charged by the Department of Justice for extortion but those charges were dropped due to lack of evidence. Nerayoff seems convinced that Vitalik and Lubin had a hand in this legal mess.
This might explain why our protagonist is hell-bent on getting justice served and making sure the Ethereum founders get their just desserts. In fact, he’s been threatening to expose “criminals on an unprecedented scale.” And it looks like Mr.Buterin is at the top of his hit list.
In a recent statement, Nerayoff pointed out how conveniently Vitalik managed to obtain a Montenegro passport – which happens to be one of those countries where extradition isn’t really a thing. He promises more bombshells are coming soon!
Despite these serious allegations flying around like confetti at a parade, neither Vitalik nor Lubin has stepped forward with any denials or explanations yet. According to Nerayoff, their silence speaks volumes about their guilt.
