In a shocking turn of events, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin celebrated his 30th birthday by having an existential crisis. He took to the internet to share his thoughts on life, crypto and why he’s no longer the cool kid in town.
Vitalik Buterin – The Boy Who Lived (in Crypto)
Remember when Vitalik was just a young whippersnapper making waves as the youngest billionaire at age 27? Well, those days are long gone. Now he spends most of his time chatting with fresh-faced crypto enthusiasts who’ve taken up leadership roles within this digital wild west. It seems like only yesterday that he was their age… oh wait; it practically was!
This midlife-crisis-in-the-making has led our dear friend Vitalik to realize that he’s not one of the cool kids anymore:
“Watching all these people go further than I did, younger than I did… made me clearly realize my role is now different.”
He then went on a philosophical tangent about how identity is tied to one’s role in society and how both change over time – deep stuff for someone who used to be obsessed with math equations and economic models.
The Birth Of A New Crypto Space
Vitalik also shared some profound insights into how much cryptocurrency has changed since its inception back in ’08. Apparently “the broader public discourse” doesn’t care about money or banks anymore (newsflash!). This got him wondering if cryptocurrencies are becoming outdated relics from another era.
To combat this potential obsolescence, Mr.Buterin proposed two solutions: remind people that money still matters (duh!) and use crypto technology to build a more democratic tech stack. He also pointed out the unique advantage of the crypto industry – its decentralized nature with developers scattered across the globe.
“Rather than just focusing on money… I argued that Ethereum should expand its horizons.”
In his view, creating a trustworthy, democratic, and decentralized tech stack would help evolve cryptocurrency to meet 21st-century needs. This way it could be part of broader technological narratives instead of being pigeonholed as “just finance”.
Vitalik Buterin – The Man Who Lived (in Crypto)
Vitalik concluded his birthday post by reflecting on how everything changes over time including himself:
“The world is rapidly changing…and so am I.”
The only constant in life is change; even for someone who once seemed invincible in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
To wrap things up, let’s not forget about Ethereum’s current tradingSponsored Product price which stands at $2,300. Because no matter what happens or how much Vitalik ages or philosophizes about life and identity – some things never change!
