Hey there, fellow Californians! It’s time to pack up and head for the Sunshine State because California continues to give us reasons not to love it. The latest in a long line of terrible ideas is the push to base electricity fees on income rather than actual usage. That’s right; they want those who make more money to pay exorbitant amounts so that those who don’t can save a few bucks.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Isn’t this supposed to create ‘equity’?” But let’s be real; this is just another excuse for the government to pilfer our hard-earned cash. Apparently, we’ve reached a point where making more money means paying higher bills, which doesn’t seem very equitable at all.
To break down these ridiculous green initiatives further, let’s take a look at some facts and figures surrounding this new plan for “equitable energy.” Firstly, if you make over $180k per year, get ready to fork out an extra $500 annually on your electricity bill. Meanwhile, those earning less than $28k could see savings of up to $300 per year.
Why are they doing this? Well, apparently it will help expand and modernize California’s “green” electrical system – because taxing people into oblivion always helps in some way or another (you know how it goes). According to Pacific Gas & Electric: “This move will help limit the impact on disadvantaged communities as Californians transition”. But trust me when I say that limiting impact does NOT mean fair treatment or justice!
It gets worse though; according…
Wait…are you still with me? Sorry about all that legal stuff above – even I got lost halfway through. Anyway, as I was saying before my mind drifted off into SQL statements (cough nerd cough) – not everyone in Cali is enamoured by these socialist plans forcing them under painful subsidy bills! More than 250 comments against this unfair billing plan have been registered, with one netizen hitting the nail on the head: “Why should I pay for someone else’s bill when I paid thousands for solar?” That’s a valid question if you ask me.
Here’s where it all starts to unravel. Many Californians banking on “clean energy” upgrades to save them money or give them tax relief are finding that installing renewable optionsSponsored Product like solar panels isn’t doing squat, generating big bills they didn’t bargain for; these “clean upgrades” don’t seem only cost-prohibitive after all. California’s electricity prices range from one and half times up to twice the national average adding frustration into the mix forcing many people out of a state they once loved.
It doesn’t matter how much green fairy dust we sprinkle over various topics; at some point, we need to look at things objectively and not let emotions drive our actions. If a socialist utility bill is what it takes for some politicians to feel good about themselves while decimating job creators and residents’ hopelessly frustrated taxpayers, then something has gone wrong somewhere!
And just so you don’t think this is exclusive-to-California idiocy – several fellow blue strongholds decided gas-powered cars had no chance in hell despite having almost zero electric infrastructure because reasons, leading entire industries down their doom by force-conversion strategies (have fun with that Maryland – but remember your life before government dealing in cars altogether)…so much eco-justice…
As loopy as that sounds already, here’s an icing sprinkled cherry on top: The Left wants gas appliances GONE too!! No more natural gas heaters – NO MORE!!! Think naturally aspirated lawnmowers will survive? Nope…remember President Biden’s push earlier this year wanting those who did everything right with hard work paying off debts better credit scores subsiding others who made horrible credit decisions through homeownership rates hikes? Sound familiar? It should.
This tactic fiercely so set on a utopian concept about “you will own nothing and be happy,” comes frequently from the World Economic Forum (WEF), which has seen a chip off California’s socialist government block. ESG business strategies, 15 minutes cities ideas and as of recent news revealed earlier this June includes eating bugs…wait what? Yes, you read that right; some are pushing bug-infested dietSponsored Product plans because that’s supposed to get us somehow eco-sensitive or something!
Anyway, folks! Unless we pull the plug on these hare-brained concepts soon – before everyone only sees darkness by candlelight – it’s going to be too late. Maybe earthworms and beetles pair well with mealtime traditions by candlelight?
